The Merry Widow Health Mine
is a tunnel into a mountain along the Rockies in Basin, Montana where radon gas is naturally emitted. The mine has helped people find relief from such diverse ailments as arthritis, sinusitis, migraine, eczema, asthma, hay fever, psoriasis, allergies, diabetes, and others. The list is growing constantly as mine visitors tell us of various ailments, from which they have experienced relief.
The visitors drink the spring water, which flows through the mine. The mine's water has also shown to help restore one's health and is rich in various minerals. The water in is tested by the Montana State Health Department and found to be pure for drinking purposes. This water has also cured some visitors of cataracts when used as an eye-wash.
The radon mines of Bockstein and Bad Gastein, Austria, have been studied for over 30 years by the Gastein Research Institute, the Physiological Institute of the University of Innsbruck, and the Medical Clinic of the University of Innsbruck. The temperature in the mine remains around 60 °F winter and summer so it is advisable to wear warm clothing. First-time visitors should try to commit to 32 one hour visits spread over 10 to 11 days (about three visits a day).
